Just Got a Message from my friend Dennis on Facebook
Dennis is one of my FB contact that I met through another social networking group, Multiply. He is one of my contact that always encourages me to shoot through his praises and this morning he made it again.
” You might be interested in reading this: sent to C. Nguyen today–Catherine, it pains me to hear you say that you can be excluded from something that you like to do because of physical limitations. If what you are modeling is your looks, no successful model has ever been successful just because she has the outer stuff. Most great models also seem to have good character and a love of life that shows through to the outside. Do you agree with that?
In your case if you lack height, curves, etc., you need to work with photographers like jun madayag who do great things with the “emotion” that they see in models. What I would want to see for you is that they will take memorable photographs that others will admire because you are the model with all that you possess. Tell me what you think of my ideas… “
and my reply…
” I agree with you Dennis. Although I am not a pro photog I think if your photos are intended to be printed I think you can get away without towering the height requirements and other physical attributes. Sometimes you’ll be surprise with.. with age. With the very sophisticated software that you see around you’ll be surprise how digital manipulations go around with printed photos these days.
On deeper note…” If what you are modeling is your looks, no successful model has ever been successful just because she has the outer stuff. Most great models also seem to have good character and a love of life that shows through to the outside.” I agree.. and this goes with photographers as well. This actually applies to everyone.
But I really have to thank you for always admiring what I do. You are one of those people who gets me inspired but your appreciation.”
Anyway if you guys have any thoughts on this please do share.
These are some of the photos of Catherine
